Paul Destieu lives and works between Marseille, France and Maribor, Slovenia.
Combining video, architecture and graphic design, his work results in an area of experimentation and confrontation with space. His interventions attempt to initiate landslides through landscape manipulations. The situations that he develops rely on the spot of break between coincidence and mechanism, between accident and attack. These collisions with architecture can be seen as many pretexts for identifying its poetical dimension and for activating a new potential of representation. These actions usually find their final shape through video or installation in which reality seems to be disturbed for a short instant. Paul Destieu graduated from the Institute of visual arts in Orleans (Fr.) in 2006 and studied at the Fine Art Academy of Warsaw (Pl.). Since several years his work is exhibited in France and abroad.

He is the co-founder of Otto-Prod / La Vitrine and currently works as part of the collective by organising cultural exchanges between France and Slovenia or events around this initiative.

Paul Destieu vit et travaille entre Marseille en France et Maribor en Slovénie.
Invitant au dialogue video, architecture et graphisme, son travail se traduit par un périmètre d’expérimentation et de confrontation à l’espace. Les situations mises en scène reposent sur le point de rupture entre coïncidence et mécanisme, entre accident et attentat. Les collisions élaborées avec l’architecture constituent autant de prétextes pour identifier sa charge poétique et activer un nouveau potentiel de représentation. De ces interventions résultent des événements filmés dans lesquels le réel semble déstabilisé pour un court instant. Ses recherches s’inscrivent dans une démarche transdisciplinaire. Ces actions trouvent une finalisation sous des formes telles que l’installation ou la vidéo. Il est diplomé de l'Institut d'Arts Visuels d'Orléans (Fr.) et a étudié à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Varsovie (Pl.). Depuis plusieurs années son travaille est exposé en France et à l'étranger.

Il est également à l'initiative d'Otto-Prod / La Vitrine et participe à la mise en place d'échanges entre la France et la Slovénie ainsi que des évènements culturels autour de cette dynamique.
